Our Story

On Tuesday, 8 April 2025, Avonhead Community Trust, in conjunction with Kingdom Resources, held a Cook n Save class, aimed at Seniors.

It was an opportunity to share ideas on how to make your money stretch further in the kitchen.  Helpful tips were discovered, learned from cooking together and enjoyed shared kai at the end of the class.

Topics that were discussed were:

• making your money go further
• menu planning
• simple recipe ideas
• ‘substitute’ ingredients
• seasonal cooking

I great lunch time session was enjoyed and we hope to work together with Kingdom Resources in the near future - so watch this space.

A group of children from our holiday programme enjoyed  visiting ‘Come & Connect’ earlier in 2021.  The children baked Anzac biscuits and served these as part of the morning tea.  We really enjoyed chatting with people from our local community and sharing some board games together.
